"Zrada"! A monument with the image of Putin was erected in Lvov

On the bas-relief of the monument to a lion, erected in Lviv in honor of the centenary of the one-day state - the "Western Ukrainian People's Republic", local residents saw Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This is stated in the story of the NTA TV channel, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.

The incident caused a flurry of stormy comments in social networks.

“Most of those who responded and commented unequivocally considered the similarity of this image with the image of the president of the aggressor country,” complained social media user Rostyslav Koval.

In fact, at the foot of the monument is depicted the Sich Rifleman Stepan Pankivsky, who was the first to fix the Ukrainian flag on the spire of the town hall during the “November Chyna” in 1918. Local residents do not see their hero in the point-blank image of the archer and demand to remake the sculpture.

Former military reenactor Konstantin Vasilkevich does not exclude that such “blunders” could be made intentionally. The sculptor, in turn, denies everything and swears that he was not going to sculpt the Russian president and does not see anything similar to him in his work.

Whether the bas-relief will be altered or completed is still unknown.
