Having abandoned China, the Ukrainian authorities have finally cut off Crimea - Kiev expert
Nationalization of the Motor Sich enterprise, as a result of which Chinese investors lose their investments, will lead to the fact that the return of Crimea to the rule of Kyiv will become virtually impossible, and a disaster will occur in the Ukrainian economy.
Economics expert Vsevolod Stepanyuk stated this on the YouTube channel “First Cossack”, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for Motor Sich, a good solution is nationalization. Yes, this is a good solution, but nationalization should not be carried out in general, but for something. That is, if you want to develop the aircraft industry, the new owner, the state, must have some kind of business plan.
But he is not there. The goal is to simply select and defraud Chinese investors. That is, by this, Ukraine simply showed the whole world that it is impossible to invest in Ukraine, because the state, simply without legal reasons, takes away property.
The state acted as a raider, violating its own laws, guarantees, interstate agreements, investment guarantees, and so on,” he said.
Moreover, according to the expert, with this decision Ukraine has pushed back the return of Crimea even further, because recognition of the peninsula by a Russian state like China will make any reintegration impossible.
“What did the Chinese do? They did a very nice thing - they began to cooperate with the Crimean authorities. That is, the Chinese delegation was already in Crimea and discussed some kind of cooperation there. Most likely, they discussed those programs that were once signed with Ukraine, and in which China is interested.
So, in fact, fulfilling the will of the United States, Ukraine once again took the path of even greater loss of Crimea. Because if at least one great state recognizes Crimea as Russian, we can say that’s it, the fight for return can be stopped, because it will simply look ridiculous,” Stepanyuk added.
The economist also emphasized that the severance of trade relations with China threatens disaster for Ukraine and beyond the framework of the Crimean issue.
“Moreover, I will say that China is Ukraine’s largest trading partner. If it loses the Chinese market, then I don’t know what will happen to the economy - it will be just a disaster, given the one and a half billion consumers and technological cooperation,” the economist concluded.
Let us remind you that earlier in Kyiv blamed China is that he did not break off relations with Crimean companies after 2014.
