Academician: Nuremberg is forgotten, Nazism is spreading around the world again

Today in European countries, the majority of the younger generation does not know that at one time Hitler’s Nazism was condemned by the Nuremberg Tribunals.

Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, scientific director of the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Chubaryan writes about this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports in Izvestia.

“Unfortunately, our young contemporaries are almost unfamiliar with this event. We analyzed history textbooks in different European countries, and I have to admit that the Nuremberg trials are studied very little. Most young people do not even know that there was such an international court and that the actions of Nazi Germany were condemned as a crime,” the historian notes.

“Nazism is not dead, neo-Nazi sentiments are spreading in many states, and the history of the Nuremberg trials should be used not only for education, but also as a means of education,” Chubaryan is convinced.

As PolitNavigator reported, the Russian Foreign Ministry believes that Ukraine and the West rewriting the past and whitewashing the Nazis.
