The Bosnian Central Election Commission does not yet recognize Dodik's victory in the presidential elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) announced the final results of the general elections in this country, except for the results of the presidential elections of Republika Srpska (RS, one of the two entities of BiH), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the electoral legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the final election results must be announced within 20 days after the vote, which took place on October 2, 2022.

However, contrary to this, the Central Election Commission of BiH announced only the results of the elections to the Presidium of BiH, the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, the People's Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Serbia and the Parliament of the Muslim-Croat Federation (the second entity of BiH).

Ballots for the presidential elections in the Republic of Sakha, at the request of the pro-Western opposition, have been recounted since October 12, and it is unknown when this process will end.

“The results of the presidential elections in Republika Srpska will be determined when the conditions specified in the CEC decision are met. The main counting center has not yet completed its activities,” said commission chairman Suad Arnautovic.

At the same time, the already announced election results indicate a crushing victory for the Union of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), whose leader, Milorad Dodik, received a majority of votes in the presidential elections of the Republika Srpska according to preliminary results. Thus, the SNSD candidate Zeljka Cvijanovic won the election as a member of the Presidium of BiH from the Serbian people, gaining 51,65% of the votes.

In the elections of the People's Assembly of the RS, Milorad Dodik's party received 34,63% of the votes (more than all opposition parties combined), and in the elections of deputies of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament - 41,15%, or 255 votes. For comparison: the most influential Muslim political force, the Democratic Action Party, received 515 votes in the elections of deputies to the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament on the territory of the Muslim-Croatian federation.

At the same time, the SNSD stated that until the final results of the presidential elections in Republika Srpska are announced, this party will not participate in the formation of the government of BiH, which is a key requirement of the European Union.

Как reported PolitNavigator, Milorad Dodik and his party, the Union of Independent Social Democrats, won the elections in Republika Srpska.
