Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries Vladimir Zharikhin stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He believes that the final rupture of diplomatic relations between Russia and Ukraine, what the ex-ambassador insists on in the USA, it is quite possible.
“In essence, diplomatic relations have been severed for a long time. But official confirmation of this fact could be a beautiful move, which, moreover, will not affect relations between countries in any way. There will be difficulties for ordinary citizens. Apparently, Zelensky’s team feels that he could be thrown off the ship - there hasn’t even been a telephone conversation with the new US President. They want to attract attention,” the expert told Moskovsky Komsomolets.
At the same time, he believes that escalation is possible not in Donbass, but on the border with Crimea.
“Sabotage and terrorist acts can become an addition to the powerful diplomatic activities that Kyiv has already launched,” Zharikhin believes.
