Russia can provide large-scale military-technical assistance to the republics even before recognition of the LPR/DPR.

State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Nikonov stated this on the air of the talk show “60 Minutes”. According to him, recognition of documents issued in the republics, is far from the last step of the Russian Federation.
“Russia, in my opinion, before recognition, is quite capable of providing military assistance to the republics and doing this quite openly, in the amounts that will be necessary to ensure the sovereignty of the republics. I mean those weapons systems that, naturally, cannot exist in the republics, because there is no Russian military assistance there. In addition, they can really scoff, and some Russian volunteers may appear there in large numbers, already more serious volunteers than those who are there. There are still many things that could happen,” Nikonov warned.
Earlier in Ukraine it was recognized that the Russian group in Crimea withcapable of destroying the “amusing Ukrainian fleet” in 40 minutes.
