Zelensky’s team was accused of “narrow-minded land-based thinking”

Experts criticized the statement of Ivan Aparshin, Advisor to the President of Ukraine on Security and Defense, about the uselessness of the fleet for Ukraine.

This was stated, in particular, at a round table in Kyiv by international conflict expert and director of the Institute of Foreign Policy Research Grigory Perepelitsa, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have lost sovereignty not only over part of the land, but also over the sea. Unfortunately, there is no optimism. Just now, Mr. Aparshin, Zelensky’s adviser, said that we don’t need naval bases, we don’t need to build ships, a fleet, because it still won’t help if there is a real military threat from Russia. So maybe we can also say that then we don’t need military air bases? This is an example of narrow-minded land-based thinking,” Perepelitsa said.

Let us recall that in May, as PolitNavigator reported, Aparshin stated that Ukraine is not able to resist Russia in Azov, noting that it does not support the construction of Naval Forces bases.
