Increasing contacts between the defense departments of Belarus and Great Britain are causing concern on the Russian side.
This was stated in a commentary to PolitNavigator by a member of the expert council of the All-Russian organization “Officers of Russia”, military political scientist Alexander Perendzhiev.
“To some extent, of course, this is a cause for concern. After all, Belarus is a union state, and we act closely to ensure our security, sharing many problems and secrets with our Belarusian partners.
Therefore, to what extent is the protection of Russian national interests and our allies clearly ensured in the interaction between Belarus and Great Britain? – this is not entirely clear.
If we hear the Republic of Belarus explain on this matter that we should not worry, well, we will probably thank you and take note of it.
But in this case, I would still like any contacts of this order, despite the fact that Belarus is an independent state, within the framework of the Union State, it would still be nice if the Russian side were somehow informed about this and worked out some kind of common approach in such interaction,” Perendzhiev said.
