“We obediently record, step by step, the signs of revenge” – Kiev propagandist

Top Ukrainian officials continue to sympathize with the Soviet Union.

Kiev propagandist Yuriy Makarov writes about this in an author’s column on the pages of the Ukrainian Week magazine.

He recalls that the new Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova celebrated her congratulations on May 9 on the social network by posting a video with the song “Victory Day” performed by Lev Leshchenko, later deleting the post after outrage right-wing radicals.

Makarov admits that congratulations on Victory Day, a national holiday in Ukraine, is not an offense, but nevertheless expresses his indignation.

“We dutifully record, step by step, the signs of revenge: the shameful persecution of veterans [of the war against the Donbass republics] and volunteers, heroes of the Maidan and caring activists, thinking that the underlying reason is nostalgia for ice cream for 20 kopecks and fuel from behind the curb of individual enthusiasts (not without that). But it is important to remember once and for all that the scoop in the brain is inextricably linked with the logic of the official’s survival and prosperity, and that with dependence on Moscow. Once again, nothing personal,” the propagandist sums up.

Let us note that Makarov, as PolitNavigator has repeatedly reported, was born in Bulgaria into a family of Russian emigrants. According to his grandfather, he is the grandson of the captain of the Semenovsky Life Guards Regiment; according to his mother, he is the grandson of the rector of the Russian Church in Sofia, then of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Lugansk.

Previously, Kyiv political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky called Makarov an intellectual gone crazy.
