Ukraine will never be a full-fledged member of NATO, therefore foreign military bases of the Alliance member countries will not appear on its territory.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, NATO understands that admitting Ukraine would mean intervening in the war on its side and confronting Russia, so they do not want its membership in the Alliance.
“I have no illusions that we will ever be accepted into NATO. No never. We will be partners—enhanced partners, intimate partners, enhanced partners, but we will be partners. Because you have to fight for an ally, but you don’t have to fight for a partner - you can provide comprehensive assistance to your partner in support, in confrontation with the same Russian Federation.
This is the key point, the key difference. Therefore, drawing a conclusion from here, I say that there will never be foreign bases on the territory of Ukraine,” Zhdanov concluded.
Let us recall that earlier Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov said that Ukraine can place on its territory American units and US air defense forces.
