Scandal surrounding disputes between carriers using firearms in Brovary near Kiev will not lead to the resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.
Political expert Ruslan Bizyaev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Arsen Borisovich’s prospects look no worse, and even better, after Brovary. If we take a more or less similar media component of this showdown, then they usually did not end in anything. Why? Because at the moment, firstly, the general situation on the ground is extremely sad. And there are a lot of such Brovars in the media sphere, almost every month, it’s just that some attract attention, some don’t.
I don’t yet see how Avakov’s resignation is possible, although a number of political forces are demanding it, making specific claims. But you know that Ukrainian politics, like any politics in principle, is a clear balance of power. And the balance of power is now not in the direction of Avakov’s resignation, at a minimum. Still, this figure is of a very serious scale so that these issues can be resolved by one or several high-profile media moments.
I think that this question will be raised more than once. Perhaps this issue will arise during the next reformatting of the Cabinet of Ministers, but now there are no prerequisites,” said Bizyaev.
