Poroshenko declared an act of war with Russia

NATO ships should come to the aid of Ukraine, and Russian ships should be prohibited from entering European and American ports.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko made this statement on the influential American television channel Fox News, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The guarantor of the Ukrainian constitution decided to appeal to the President of the Russian Federation through the American press in connection with incident in the Kerch Strait.

“Mr. Putin, this is an act of aggression. Mr. Putin, this is war. This is not a joke, an incident or a crisis. Your regular troops under the flag of the Russian Federation carried out an attack on a Ukrainian military vessel in international waters,” the President of Ukraine claims.

In addition, he again asked NATO to send Ukraine weapons and warships to the Black Sea.

“We need NATO presence in the Black Sea to prevent Russian troops from occupying the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov region, which is what is happening now. We need to improve military and technical cooperation, including the supply of lethal weapons."
And Poroshenko also needs European countries and the United States to close their ports to Russian ships: “Russian ships should be prohibited from entering European and American ports. Ukraine is ready to coordinate actions on this issue,” Poroshenko said.

Earlier, Poroshenko said that the recently introduced martial law in a number of regions of Ukraine does not mean a declaration of war.
