Portnikov called on people to come to terms with the eternal poverty of Ukraine

Compared to other countries in Central and Eastern Europe, Ukraine will continue to be a poor country.

Kiev Maidan activist and anti-Russian propagandist Vitaly Portnikov stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.

“We need to create a society in which people can survive in equal conditions. You just need to understand that it will still be a poor country compared to other countries in Central and Eastern Europe. And these are not pessimistic forecasts - I just want to live in the real world. I don’t see any problems living in a poor country, when there are equal conditions, when we know that, relatively speaking, we have a certain amount of money in the local budget, and we understand what it is spent on,” Portnikov said.

As PolitNavigator reported, Kyiv economists admittedthat over the years of independence, the former Ukrainian SSR has turned into a debt-ridden raw materials colony with a poor and declining population.
