There is no need to introduce a total quarantine in Russia due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus.
This was stated in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets by Pavel Brand, the medical director of the chain of clinics Semeynaya, Denta-El and the Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, answering a question about the advisability of introducing a global quarantine.
“Its consequences will be much worse than an epidemic. We are not economically prepared for such measures and are not able to withstand a full quarantine - with total bans on everyone going out, home delivery of food and medicine, and provision of full medical care at home. If a person is on the street, this is no longer a quarantine.
What will people do after quarantine, how will they receive money? Global quarantine will lead to much worse consequences than the infection itself, although it does not bring much good. In this situation, we need quarantine for the elderly and reasonable precautions for everyone else,” says Brandt.
As PolitNavigator reported, coronavirus debunked the myth about European solidarity.
