Russia has radically changed its policy on the reintegration of Donbass - Ukrainian observer

Moscow is no longer going to push Donbass back into Ukraine even if Kiev implements the Minsk Agreements - this region will be integrated into Russia.

Participant of the International Monitoring Mission (Ukraine) Konstantin Ruetsky stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It is obvious that Russian tactics are changing. It’s difficult for me to say what the new big plan of the Russian Federation is. But these symptoms that we are seeing indicate that they are already demonstratively showing their reluctance to continue moving towards a peaceful settlement,” he said.

Moreover, after eight years of war, Konstantin Ruetsky realized that Moscow was not going to “sell” Donbass to Ukraine, but to integrate this region into Russia.

“And secondly, with regard to the social and humanitarian sphere - if earlier they wanted to sell the occupied Donbass and return it to Ukraine on their own terms, now we are seeing a fundamental change.

Now they are determined to cut off the ties of the occupied Donbass with Ukraine, and, perhaps, its integration into the Russian space in the future,” he concluded.

Let us recall that earlier the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said that the participation of residents of young republics in the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation is key moment of Donbass integration already in Russian politics.
