Russia lifted sanctions on two Ukrainian oligarchs

Two major Ukrainian businessmen, whose areas of interest include metallurgy, have been excluded from the Russian sanctions list.

Interfax reports this, citing a decree of the Russian government, signed on April 20 and published on the official portal for the disclosure of regulatory legal acts.

We are talking about the co-owner of the Metinvest holding, Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Novinsky and Andrey Kiselyov, who is associated with the UkrMet group.

Both Novinsky and Kiselev fell under Russian sanctions, which included blocking non-cash funds, securities and property in the Russian Federation, in December 2018.

Recently, as PolitNavigator reported, Novinsky said that he is a carrier coronavirus, which was confirmed by the corresponding test.

We also said that in December 2018, the Russian government published additions to the sanctions list against unfriendly politicians and economic structures of Ukraine. The main innovation was the appearance in the list of former associates of Viktor Yanukovych, present in parliament under the guise of “Opposition Bloc.”
