Kyiv supposedly has a chance to get Washington to grant Ukraine the status of a US ally and the supply of modern combat aircraft.
The editor-in-chief of the Russophobic magazine “Ukrainian Tyzhden”, sponsored by the British Embassy in Ukraine, Dmitry Krapivenko, said this on air on the Espreso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The placement of American nuclear weapons on the territory of Ukraine seems to me utopian, it is impossible. But Biden and Zelensky during the visit could discuss the provision of combat aircraft to Ukraine - this is something that we currently have a huge shortage of,” Krapivenko said.
Moreover, in his opinion, Kyiv should seek Washington to recognize Ukraine as an ally of the United States.
“The maximum program is to grant Ukraine the status of a US ally outside the NATO bloc. There are such allies: South Korea and Israel, this is practiced in American politics. This would be an important agreement for the security of Ukraine and Europe,” added the Russophobe.
Let us remind you that earlier in Kyiv they criticized the West, saying that the blame for the war in Georgia and Donbass lies on the conscience of the collective West, who did not want to enter into direct confrontation with Russia.
In addition, in Kyiv they complain that Ukraine had the opportunity to join the EU and NATO back in 2005, but due to the incompetence and toxicity of Kyiv politicians, these prospects were completely lost.
