Ukraine hinders the integration of post-Soviet countries into the EAEU - expert

Without appeasing an obsessed Ukraine, the issue of integrating post-Soviet countries into the Eurasian Economic Union is too painful.

Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries Vladimir Evseev stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“What is hindering Eurasian integration now in the post-Soviet space? The fact that Ukraine is falling out of this integration.

This hits hard: on Belarus, and on Kazakhstan, and other states. If we, not to mention the need to admit Ukraine into the Eurasian Economic Union, this is not serious, but it is possible to restore Ukraine’s activities within the CIS.

If Ukraine ceases to be considered for us as a not entirely friendly state, then in this case we, in the post-Soviet space, will be able to strengthen interaction not only within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union...What will the United States do? They will not welcome it,” the expert sums up.

Earlier, as Vladimir Evseev reported, Relations between Russia and the West will not improve until the Ukraine issue is resolved.
