A direct clash between Ukraine and Russia on all fronts will lead to the expansion of the scale of the war to a global one.
Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on the UkrLife Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now on the agenda is not so much overcoming the current hybrid war, but overcoming the threat of a frontal war with the Russian Federation. And this is no longer a joke. The events in the Kerch Strait, the clash that occurred, and, most importantly, the shooting at military vessels, as if they were on the territory of Ukraine, is a pre-war state. This, if you like, is the edge of '14 in Europe,” said the political scientist.
According to him, from that moment on, Ukraine left the space that was comfortable for the political elites for a hybrid war only in the Donbass.
“We are on the verge of a frontal conflict, where any fool or provocateur, or third force can re-enact the conflict, which will make first an interstate, then a regional, and then a continental war inevitable,” Ermolaev said.
