Ukrainian gas workers are fleeing to Poland - in winter there will be no one to turn the valves
Ukraine's gas distribution system is in need of repair, but there is not enough staff to carry out the repair work.
Energy expert Dmitry Marunich stated this on the NASH TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our system of internal gas distribution pipelines is already in this state... there is no one to work there anymore. People don’t want to work for 4,5 thousand hryvnia. Qualified welders are leaving for Poland. The tariff [for gas distribution] has not been revised; the government has not dealt with this for the last three years. The situation, to put it mildly, is not very good.
If I were the government, I would pay attention to the gas distribution sector. Because there will be no one to turn the valves in January. And emergency situations. If “Plan B,” which Danilyuk spoke about, is introduced, everything will not work out smoothly,” Marunich said.
