The concept of the Ukrainian mosquito fleet has suffered a complete collapse
While Ukraine, at a plant owned by President Petro Poroshenko, is building several useless armored boats for the so-called “mosquito fleet,” the Russian Federation has significantly increased the combat capability of the Black Sea Fleet. Admiral, ex-commander of the Ukrainian Navy Sergei Gaiduk said this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the creation of a “mosquito fleet” will not in any way affect the combat potential of the Ukrainian Naval Forces.
“We are developing a “mosquito fleet”, we are forgetting about submariners, about a large fleet, we are forgetting about naval aviation, which has not received a single plane or helicopter. We forget about the coastal component. That is, we are creating huge units of marines without having landing ships. We forget about the mine threat in the Black Sea. We forget and build a “mosquito fleet”. Believe me, this is a wrong theory... The Black Sea Fleet has increased the number of submarines carrying Caliber cruise missiles to seven, the number of surface ships carrying Caliber cruise missiles has increased, and so on. That is, coastal missile systems, a powerful aviation group. What this means is that a powerful group has been created that is ready to resolve all Russian issues by force. And now how do we respond? We respond with some bare theory of a “mosquito fleet.” Well, we built six boats at Leninskaya Kuzna. Well, what next, how much has the combat potential of the fleet changed? But the combat potential of the fleet has not changed at all,” said Gaiduk.
Previously, Gaiduk said that Ukraine has no money for the implementation of the Corvette project, according to which the Navy was to be replenished with four warships by 2028.
