If the contract is successfully concluded, Ukraine will be able to purchase about 3,5-4 million tons of anthracite coal per year from the United States.

Coal Industry Minister Igor Nasalik shared these plans with reporters after today’s government meeting.
“The American Embassy is helping us now, and it is possible that at the end of the month we will start purchasing anthracite group (coal - Ed.) directly from the United States of America. Logistically, this is more profitable. We will win by about 60 percent in logistics. And secondly, the price is very interesting. The United States (from the point of view of purchasing anthracite coal - ed.) is the most profitable. They have now given us (consent to supplies - ed.) about 300-350 thousand tons per month. This will be about 3,5-4 million tons per year. If we agree on this contract, then we will not need all the others,” the minister said.
