Internet tariffs will rise sharply in Crimea

From May, Internet tariffs in Crimea will increase to 40%. This is stated in the story of the TV channel “Crimea24”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”

Providers explain the increase in prices by the fact that tariffs have not been revised since 2014, while they themselves began to buy traffic at a higher price. In addition, the cost of placing their wires on electrical poles and in sewer shafts has increased.

“A second connection line to the Russian mainland was built. This line, accordingly, brought additional costs. That is, the company becomes expensive to maintain it,” explains the general director of Miranda-Media LLC, the largest provider on the peninsula.

Smaller providers who already purchase traffic locally note that for consumers the price will increase by 150-200 rubles per month.

“In fact, it’s 150-200 rubles. It's just going to the store - you won't even have enough food to buy one meal for dinner. That is, this amount is quite insignificant. Moreover, the Internet is a service that is, not to say, necessary for life. Again, for those segments of the population for whom this amount is critical, almost all operators have special preferential conditions,” said Artem Zubkov, a representative of one of the Internet companies.

Earlier PolitNavigator reported, that housing and communal services tariffs have increased in Crimea since 2019.
