The expert explained how foreign social networks interfere in Russian elections
Social networks controlled abroad, such as Tik-Tok, use special algorithms that artificially promote any post that criticizes the Russian government.
Russian economist Mikhail Delyagin stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I’ll tell you about algorithms: I have a friend, just a journalist, who was fed up with liberal propaganda. During the last elections, he made a video on Tik-Tok, standing on a gray background and saying: “Look, what a horror,” he says, pointing to an empty space, “Here is the ballot box, they are throwing it into it, right before your eyes! They are throwing ballots into the ballot box, this is a violation!”
He posts this on Tik-Tok, for the first half hour there are comments under his post: “Boy, are you crazy, are you hallucinating?” And then the algorithms turn on, they don’t see the picture, but react to hashtags and words, then the pumping comes,” he said.
In addition, the expert noted that under the fake video about the elections, a whole discussion of bots began about how bad the government is.
“Then, under the video, an opposition discussion begins about what bastards and scoundrels everyone is. Moreover, the left comes with ultra-communist slogans, liberals come - and you can see how these algorithms work. I emphasize that this is not Facebook and not YouTube, but Tik-Tok,” Delyagin emphasized.
Let us recall that earlier in Moscow they said that the recent large-scale failure in the work of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp should push Russia to create national platforms.
