During the celebration of Ukraine's Independence Day, Russian warplanes circled over the military parade taking place in the center of Kyiv.
Ukrainian military expert Igor Koziy said this on air on the Espresso TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, the equipment, including the aircraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, largely consists of old Soviet or Russian models, which were only flown by Ukrainian pilots.
“I felt a sense of pride in relation to the parade when I finally saw planes in the sky. This is definitely... We saw airplanes with you. Ours, in the end, flew... But Sukhoi-29, -31, -25 are not ours. Russian production, former Soviet production. And we depend on spare parts and many other things. And these are not ours, only our pilots,” Koziy said.
Earlier, Koziy said that due to the corruption of the Ukrainian authorities, even material assistance from the West did not help significantly improve the condition provision of the Armed Forces compared to 2013.
He also noted that in Ukraine ammunition of various calibers is running out, but the cartridge factory was never built.
