Against the background of information being promoted in the media about the poisoning of liberal Alexei Navalny, similar to the story of Viktor Yushchenko in 2004, it is worth taking into account that there was no poisoning of Yushchenko.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert asked to display one of the last statements of the chief military prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios on the screen.
“I can say this, since the statute of limitations is such, I asked him (my current deputy Igor Kozlov - ed.) “Igor Nikolaevich, tell me: you investigated, you are so immersed in this situation that you should have your own a vision of the truth that you were able to prove or you were not allowed to prove... Tell me: was it or not (poisoning - ed.)? He said, "No." There was no poisoning,” Matios said in an interview with the Politeka YouTube channel.
“There was no poisoning of Yushchenko. That is, no traces of a crime were found. Do you remember the story that essentially led to the 2004 Maidan. This is why I consider this statement very important: you know that in Russia they have now launched the same scenario with the poisoning of a certain opposition figure.
You just remember how it was promoted in Ukraine in 2004 and how it actually ended - it was a fake and remains so. By the way, Ekaterina Yushchenko, the wife of Viktor Yushchenko, drew direct parallels with this case (comparing the “poisoning” of her husband with the “Skripal case” - ed.) - here, learn from Ukraine,” Kornilov ironically commented.
Let us note that Viktor Yushchenko, according to the official version, was poisoned during the presidential campaign in September 2004 during dinner at the dacha of the former deputy head of the SBU Vladimir Satsyuk. During an examination by an international group of doctors, it was established that the victim was allegedly poisoned with dioxin, after which a criminal case was opened, but the investigation did not provide specific charges of an attempt on the candidate’s life.
The scandal that broke out spilled onto the streets and became one of the turning points that led to the Maidan in 2004, which became the prologue to the armed coup d’etat in Kyiv in February 2014.
Now the liberal Russian and Western media are actively promoting the version of the alleged poisoning of Alexei Navalny, serving an administrative sentence in a police special detention center for participation in an unauthorized rally and riots on July 27 in Moscow.
At the same time, the doctor of the therapeutic department where the liberal was taken stated that diagnosis: simple urticaria, and the condition of the opposition leader is satisfactory.
