Poroshenko kills his competitor: The ex-minister of the Yushchenko era was accused of large-scale theft of tanks
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine during 2004-2007, during the leadership of the department by Anatoly Gritsenko, sold 200 tanks, 145 infantry fighting vehicles, and dozens of air defense units, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced today during a meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada regarding thefts in the Armed Forces of Ukraine during 2004-2017 by the chairman of the commission, Ivan Vinnik, representing the Petro Poroshenko Bloc.
“We have a list of defense ministers, each of whom made their so-called feasible contribution to the collapse of the system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He worked in several governments under Tymoshenko, Yekhanurov and Yanukovych, that is, a professional defense minister. His most valiant actions are the sale of at least 1,3 tanks, 2005 infantry fighting vehicles, and dozens of air defense systems. According to the chairman of VSK, Gritsenko’s “business” was continued by Yuri Yekhanurov, who was Minister of Defense from 2007 to 2009.
“He distinguished himself by the largest number of helicopters sold - 57. He began very important work to destroy the system of structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the system of military command, military management,” he noted.
Under ex-Minister of Defense Mikhail Yezhel, Vinnik noted, the system of joint operational commands of Ukraine was completely destroyed, the military corps that were supposed to protect us from the northeastern side were disbanded.
“The Russian defense ministers finished the matter. Salamatin and Lebedev had Russian citizenship,” the people’s deputy said.
Also, he added, the activities of defense ministers after 2014 will be checked.
