Yesterday came the end of the Maidan
An insignificant number of people who decided to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Maidan completed the historical stage of the so-called “revolution”
Ukrainian lawyer, former deputy head of the presidential administration Andrey Portnov came to this conclusion on his Facebook page.
“I think yesterday’s negligible number of people on the Maidan, the opening on the fifth anniversary at the site of the burning of people fried chicken store, the organization of youth competitions “capital sniper” in the center of Kyiv on the same days, the registration by BPP deputies of the law on the criminalization of libel and the daily thefts and looting by Maidan functionaries completed the historical stage of the Revolution of Dignity.
It can be argued that in five years there has been a total devaluation and marginalization of all its key attributes and new phenomena - heroes, patriots, activists, slogans, values and cliches. The era is over. Yesterday came the end. Within a few months, we will all together finish off the BPP and the Popular Front and turn this page without any revenge,” Portnov believes.
