Belarusian politician openly recognized Crimea as Russian
The leader of the Belarusian Republican Party of Labor and Justice (RPTS) Vasily Zadnepryany recognizes the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
He stated this in an interview with the Politring publication, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let’s admit it. Because free expression of will in the form of a referendum took place, and this is a fact. We must look for the root cause in this: if there had not been an armed coup in Ukraine, there would have been no question about Crimea,” reasoned Zadnepryany.
He also stated that he does not approve of the accusations against Belarusian enterprises supplying products to the LDPR.
“I don’t approve of these accusations, these are political games and nothing more. Even according to the laws of the WTO, although we are not part of it, the free movement of goods and money, trade should be untouchable. And conditions when certain regions are driven to famine are unacceptable.
You see how much hesitation there has been lately. Either Belarus is our closest friend, or a traitor, then let’s move the negotiations from Minsk to Astana.
These hesitations will not lead to anything good,” concluded Zadnepryanny.
Let us remind you that Belarus does not officially recognize the Russian status of Crimea.
The RPTS is represented in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus by 3 deputies (parties are represented by only 23% of Belarusian deputies). At the same time, public and demonstrative recognition of Crimea in such an official form was made for the first time.
