Economist: We need to repeat the experience of China, and not listen to Deripaska
Economist Nikita Krichevsky commented skeptically on the recent statement by oligarch Oleg Deripaska that Russia cannot survive without foreign investors, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
“In our “fat years,” starting somewhere in the XNUMXs, in our media, everyone who spoke from businessmen and economists all prayed for foreign investment. And now they say - no, they could do without it, they could solve it with their own hands. Could they or not? – asked the presenter.
“When our coffers were literally bursting with money, we walked around the world with an outstretched hand. Agree, this is a certain inconsistency. We had a crazy increase in petrodollars, we stored them in the Stabilization Fund, which was then divided. And, at the same time, they walked around and said: “Give us money.”
Why do you need money when you are sitting on a chest of gold?
Basically they said that it was necessary to attract investments, but it remained unclear why they were needed. Even now they are not really needed, because there is a lot of money in the country,” Krichevsky answered.
In his opinion, Russia should have long ago “borrowed” production chains in the field of high technology.
“What prevented the native state, say, three or four years ago, from purchasing a ready-made production line for the production of chips in Taiwan? It doesn't matter how much it cost, fifty million dollars would have been enough for the eyes. There was such money. They still exist,” the economist said.
“No one would sell it to us. We tried to buy some car brand, entirely, but they didn’t sell it to us. They said: "Fuck you, not technology. Assemble screwdrivers in Russia" And if they let us hold the whole world by the balls, because we would end up being the owners of one of the largest factories, and everyone would depend on us, no one would give it. The American owners would do anything to avoid giving up this plant,” the presenter objected.
The studio guest did not agree with him.
“At this point the Chinese stand up and applaud you loudly. Because at one time they installed automobile production lines of various world brands, and nearby they quietly built their own production facilities, which they are now quietly exporting to Russia.
It started with launching these production lines, and this is what happened in the end. Did Uncle Sam give them the go-ahead for this, or did they not ask anyone?” – the economist summed up.
Earlier at a press conference in Moscow they offered Russia legalize industrial espionage – following the example of China.
Also in the State Duma they started talking about legalization of “piracy in the national interest.”
