Navalny helps Putin eliminate the Sislibs
If Western governments follow the advice of opposition Russian blogger Alexei Navalny, given by him in an interview with the German publication Bild, and sanctions will be introduced against “all beneficiaries of the Putin regime”, the class of so-called “system liberals”, that is, Western sympathizers in power, will disappear in Russia.
Political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky stated this on the air of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As a result of the introduction of sanctions according to the scenario of Alexei Navalny, the so-called system liberals - that is, people who professionally sit on two chairs - completely lose their meaning. Who, on the one hand, are close to Vladimir Putin, but are considered bearers of liberal views, friends of the West, fighters for Russia’s Westernizing course. They are completely unnecessary, because any Russian elitist from now on should be very clearly either for Putin or for Navalny,” Belkovsky said.
Thus, the political scientist believes, Navalny is helping Putin cope with a problem that the Russian President could not solve for 20 years.
“The task of ensuring the full loyalty of the elites and eliminating the double loyalty of the elites, which, on the one hand, belong to Putin’s Russia, Putin’s system of power and earn huge money in Russia. Their interests are concentrated in Russia. But, on the other hand, since their capital is legalized in the West, their children and grandchildren are in the West (as they say, where your treasure is, there is your heart), then they are loyal to the West. Sanctions on Navalny absolutely solve this problem,” Belkovsky said.
