Parubiy and Avakov convicted of massacres
Russia agreed to do business with Petro Poroshenko in 2014, hoping that this would help avoid numerous casualties in the Donbass. Meanwhile, no one has any illusions about the legitimacy of the current Ukrainian government.
Russian political scientist Sergei Markov stated this in Livadia at the Forum of Friends of Crimea.

“The election of President Poroshenko took place under conditions of outright terror, and it cannot be recognized as legitimate. Russia agreed to indirect recognition in order to stop the massacre in Donbass and save the lives of tens of thousands of people. But we are not talking about legitimate power,” the political scientist said.
According to Markov, the residents of Crimea had every right to reunite with Russia after the coup d’état took place in Ukraine, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Crimea has more rights than Kosovo. There was no referendum in Kosovo. Moreover, unlike Ukraine, there was no collapse of statehood in Serbia. Therefore, Crimea has even more rights to self-determination than Kosovo. EU countries at one time actively supported Kosovo's self-determination. Their position of criticizing the self-determination of Crimea is losing its legitimacy and has clear signs of double standards,” Markov said.
“I talked with refugees from the Dnepropetrovsk region. According to their calculations, 1634 political activists went missing in the region - these people were kidnapped and killed. In Odessa, from 42 to 100 anti-fascists died. The culprits have not been found. But they are known. The culprit is Andriy Parubiy, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. It was he who organized the massacre. And Arsen Avakov. These are the two main culprits in this massacre,” says the Russian political scientist.
