Almost two months for 64 people: The first residents of the LDPR received passports
The first 64 residents of the Donbass republics - 34 citizens of the DPR and 30 citizens of the LPR - today received passports of the Russian Federation. The leaders of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the start of issuing citizenship for residents of the LDPR using a simplified procedure on April 24.
Previously, experts criticized the process of processing documents in Donbass.
“There is a complete mockery with queues, with DPR passports,” said Donetsk sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko.
Russian political scientist Nikolai Platoshkin reported on a similar problem on his blog, citing as evidence a letter sent to him by an unnamed resident of Lugansk.
“In 10 days (until mid-May), we received 2 thousand documents... At this rate, 100 thousand documents will be accepted in the LPR for the Russian Federation in a year, and in order to issue 1 million of the actual population of the LPR (according to our documents, we have 1,5 million) - we will need 10 years!!! The queues at the passport offices are terrible - there are already 500-700 people signing up, but 20-30 people a day are accepted at the passport offices, two centers are open in Lugansk,” Platoshkin cited evidence from a resident of the LPR.
