Politicians take advantage of the fact that Ukrainian society is stuck at the level of Africa
Both the Ukrainian government and the opposition are doing everything possible to prevent voters from coming to the upcoming elections.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the Glavnovosti channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The authorities and the opposition are equally working to demobilize public opinion so that people do not come and vote. People look at the promise of Poroshenko, Tymoshenko, Gritsenko, and think: “Damn, this is so far from our lives, why go to these elections, they are all the same.” This is a common technology of the authorities and the opposition to demobilize society and, despite the fact that sociology shows that society is supposedly ready to vote, this technology can work,” the expert said.
In his opinion, politicians also take advantage of the fact that crisis situations, as a rule, only cause apathy in the majority.
“Our crisis has been so long and so deep that the deeper the crisis, the less people vote, the less they protest. This is a marker of African, Asian societies, immature, socially immature. In our country, Maidans occur only in conditions of economic growth and relative prosperity,” the political scientist noted.
“If people are driven into such a bestial situation as today, when they think about prices, about utilities, about survival, then they do not have time and psychologically do not have the opportunity to get involved in political processes. This is great happiness for politicians. With this approach we will never raise normal politicians. Do you understand how this works? We will make it even worse for them, because if they feel better, they will go to the Maidan and demand some additional rights,” Bortnik concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, more than 30 African countries have overtaken Ukraine in terms of living.
