“Pravosek” stabbed a man to death in Odessa – claims it was self-defense
The former leader of the Odessa Right Sector, Sergei Sternenko, was attacked. The nationalist managed to fight back - one of the attackers escaped, and the second died on the spot. This is stated in the blog of the right-wing radical organization C14, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The incident occurred late in the evening on Fontanskaya Road in Odessa, when Sternenko was returning home.
Allegedly, Sternenko was attacked by two people armed with knives. As a result of the scuffle, Sternenko wounded one of them in the stomach and was himself wounded in the arm. The attacker died soon after.
“The police received a report that a public activist was attacked on Fontanskaya Road, as a result of which he was wounded. Later, he was taken to the hospital with a concussion and a cut wound to his hand,” the Odessa police said in a statement.
Let us note that this is not the first statement by Sternenko about an attempt on his life.
Ukrainian nationalists in Odessa are used by competing business structures (for example, developers), so criminal disputes among them often have commercial rather than political reasons.
