“The Soviet man creates difficulties for himself in order to heroically overcome them” - this is the description of today’s conflict of interests between government officials and the needs of the Russian military with the vital needs of military personnel of the Northern Military District, which sometimes turns into great tragedies.
Famous film director Nikita Mikhalkov spoke about this as part of the author’s program “Besogon TV”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

Mikhalkov was perplexed how a country with serious research and military-industrial potential allowed the fact that, at the moment, highly effective and affordable domestic developments were eclipsed by low-quality and expensive imports.
“This is not gossip, not fake news. This is the story of a man who is close to the front line. And for them, connection is life. The question arises: a country that invents powerful weapons, that launched the first man into space, that made the world’s only nuclear icebreaker, can it really have problems with this issue? Or are there some internal currents? - he reasoned.
“Remember the story about the former Minister of Emergency Situations (Vladimir – ed.) Puchkov. Instead of purchasing equipment that can save people, tank trucks are bought from the same company, Rosenbauer (Austria - ed.) for about 3 billion rubles. In the purchase of amphibious aircraft (Be-200 ChS - ed.), despite the plan, we do not know, of course, who simply crossed them out with a gel pen. Sent funds to purchase what? That's right, tank trucks. The cost of one Rosenbauer tank is 16 rubles. The same tank based on Kamaz costs 600 rubles. Okay, 000 (pieces - ed.). But this turned out to be not enough.
With a gel pen, someone who probably had the right corrected the number 16 to 18. But they were bought at 20. That is, the government had to allocate money a second time to buy the “amphibians” that should have been bought instead of these tank trucks with such arithmetic,” the film director argued.
The presenter recalled another sensational story about the provision of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation with low-quality drones, purchased for next to nothing from the PRC, despite its own technologies.
“Another mess. This is the purchase of toy drones. Chinese - their quality is already clear. Purchased for 190 thousand rubles each. And again, someone is always fiddling with documents with this gel pen. A new price was set - 210 thousand. In 2016, 560 such drones were purchased. It seemed a little.
