Political analyst Dmitry Korneychuk stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When we talk about the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the main leading personnel is Arsen Borisovich Avakov, that wonderful person who during the Maidan wrote the sacramental phrase “garbage is not people.” This phrase contained Avakov’s entire attitude towards the system that he eventually led and successfully and deliberately destroyed,” said the political scientist.
He noted that the current Ukrainian regime came to power as a result of a coup, which the expert conventionally called a “revolution,” and in order to strengthen itself, it decided to destroy the old law enforcement system, for which the so-called reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was proclaimed and Georgian reformers were invited.
“The system was successfully destroyed, and then they began to develop multi-billion dollar budgets that were allocated to finance the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It’s no secret that these funds were mastered by Avakov and people close to him. There is a criminal case against Avakov’s son, there is a criminal case regarding the so-called tenders for the purchase of cars by the National Police. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Another reason for all these imitations of reforms is that as soon as the current government came, with the support of the West, it was also necessary to show Western curators that after all, some reforms were being carried out, so Ukraine needed to be allocated tranches. Imitation of reforms to blind our Western partners. It was possible to do this for some time, but lately the West has not reacted in any way to such imitations,” added Korneychuk.
