Russia has a plan to free the sailors of the Kerch fishing vessel Nord, seized by Ukrainian border guards. Russian Senator from Crimea Olga Kovitidi stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“We have a plan and a good plan, I can assure you. Believe me, the answer that Russia will give will surprise everyone,” Kovitidi said.
She believes that Ukraine is provoking Russia to use force.
“We are expected to use force. It is clear that this is an open political provocation. Today Ukraine really needs political conflict. They know very well all the conventions on the law of the sea, the Vienna Convention, but they want to provoke Russia into active action,” Kovitidi said.
She added that at the request of the head of the Republic of Crimea, fishing vessels in the Sea of Azov are now protected by boats with appropriate weapons and naval aviation.
