A Ukrainian court ruled that the Russian tanker was detained legally
A Ukrainian court examined the circumstances of the recent arrest of a Russian tanker in Izmail and came to the conclusion that the arrest was legal, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the chief military prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios, who published a scanned copy of the court decision.
“The Ukrainian court verified the legality of the actions of military prosecutors and SBU investigators, as well as their compliance with the requirements of the law during the search on July 25.07.2019, XNUMX of the well-known Russian tanker NEYMA, which blocked Ukrainian warships in the Kerch Strait.
Based on the results of consideration of the relevant petition, the court seized the specified vessel along with the documents seized during the search. We did it. Dot!
In addition, the Russian media are disseminating false information allegedly about the illegal conduct of investigative actions by Ukrainian law enforcement officers on this ship without the permission of the Russian consul (!!!).
Let me explain - a ship, after passing through border and customs control on the territory of Ukraine, is considered to have an open border.
In accordance with the norms of current international treaties ratified by both Russia and Ukraine, the need to obtain the consent or permission of a representative of a diplomatic mission or consular office of a foreign state to conduct investigative actions on the territory of Ukraine on sea or river transport is not provided.
We did it legally. Period!!!”, wrote Matios.
Thank you!
