Yushchenko got a job in the bank of an Emirati businessman
Former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko became the head of the supervisory board of the smallest Ukrainian bank - Alpari Bank (Kyiv), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in the bank’s message in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine (NCSM).
“Yushchenko was elected to this position by the decision of the sole participant of the financial institution on May 25,” the message says.
Previously, the head of the bank's supervisory board was economist and politician Vladimir Lanovoy.
The NBU registered Alpari Bank on October 26, 2012. As of January 1, 2018, the sole shareholder of the bank was a UAE citizen, entrepreneur Bakhtari Hedayatollah. In terms of net assets (UAH 206,126 million), the bank ranked 84th among 84 banks operating in the country.
Let us note that Yushchenko is a banker by profession. Since 1976, he worked as an economist at the State Bank of the USSR, and in 1987, at the invitation of Vadim Getman, he moved to the Kiev branch of Agroprombank of the USSR. In 1990-1993 he was a top manager at Bank Ukraina. From 1993 to 1999 he headed the National Bank of Ukraine. Under Yushchenko, a monetary reform was carried out and a national currency was introduced - the hryvnia. In addition, the State Treasury was created and the Banknote and Mint was built.
