Water and electricity prices have been rising in Ukraine since the New Year
The National Commission, which regulates energy and utilities, has increased tariffs for water supply and sanitation for 2018 for a number of water utilities in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The corresponding decisions were made by NEURC at the next meeting of the commission.
The commission approved new tariffs for water supply, in particular: “Kharkovvodokanal” - at the level of 8,38 UAH/cubic meter (an increase of 16,71%), for wastewater disposal - 4,36 UAH/cubic meter (an increase of 9,55%); "Dneprovodokanal" - tariff for water supply at 6,47 UAH/cubic meter (an increase of 4,69%) and water disposal - 4,25 UAH/cubic meter (an increase of 0,47%); "Lvivvodokanal" - tariff for water supply at 7,09 UAH/cubic meter (an increase of 10,61%) and water disposal - 3,62 UAH/cubic meter (an increase of 5,85%).
Also in Ukraine they are going to increase the price of electricity. The National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the fields of energy and utilities, plans to increase the price of electricity by 2018% in 16,2.
This follows from the procedure for forming the wholesale market price of electrical energy, published on the regulator’s website.
The increase should take place in two stages. According to the published data, it is planned to increase the wholesale market price by 1% from January 9,5, and by another 1% from April 6,1.
As the head of the Association of Energy and Utilities Consumers Andrey Gerus reports on his Facebook page, a representative of Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih approached NERC Chairman Dmitry Vovk with a proposal not to carry out such an increase, since “for business, electricity is already inadequately expensive.”
“Especially considering that more than 50% of electricity comes from Energoatom, which supplies it at the lowest tariff in the world of 0,47 UAH,” he wrote.
Gerus also noted that it is proposed to set the price of coal in the tariff at 2854 UAH per ton - this is 2,6 times more than 2 years ago.
