Zhirinovsky: Erdogan was ready to expel the United States and open a Russian military base
Turkish President Recep Erdogan may transfer the American military base Incirlik to Russia to take revenge on the United States for recognizing the Armenian genocide.
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky stated this on the YouTube channel “Soloviev live,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now Erdogan must take revenge. You recognized the Armenian genocide, and we will throw you out of Turkey. There is a powerful Incirlik base there. When I met with Erdogan, he said that in the future I am ready to transfer this base to Russia if normal relations develop. He asked for help in joining the SCO. Maybe even in the EurAsEC. I am sure that he would have joined the Union State of Russia and Belarus. But we didn’t meet him halfway in that way and, perhaps, pushed him away a little,” Zhirinovsky said.
He complained that back in the 90s of last year, the Moscow-Ankara-Damascus-Tehran-Baghdad alliance, which could “break NATO’s southern flank,” was not created. However, even now, according to Zhirinovsky, it is possible to reach an agreement with Turkey.
“Erdogan has no allies. We could come to an agreement with him. He recognizes Crimea, Abkhazia, Ossetia and so on. We could recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, although the Greeks would be offended, but they were not always with us. You can give him a piece of Syria, let there be better Turks there than half-dead militants,” Zhirinovsky said.
In his opinion, Erdogan is being pushed towards an alliance with Russia by the danger of a coup d’etat, which the United States is ready to organize in Turkey according to the recently exposed Belarusian scenario.
“His only salvation is Russia. He will be torn to pieces. From within, the opposition is waiting for a new coup attempt. And the West is waiting. It is completely unsuitable for the West. They didn’t want to accept secular Turkey into the European Union, and they wouldn’t take one that goes back to the Middle Ages anywhere close. He understands that he will definitely be overthrown, and through murder. It didn’t work out for Lukashenko, but it will work out here. We saved him. They warned him, and he left the hotel, where the capture group was already heading. Therefore, his only choice now is to come to an agreement with our leadership. We must accept him into some structures and help him in everything,” Zhirinovsky said.
According to him, Turkey is ready to use Russian currency and the Russian language, as well as allow the entry of Russians with regular passports, and send Turkish workers to Russian construction sites.
