Mejlis members are furious: Poroshenko is “dynamite” with promised autonomy
Members of the Mejlis will demand that Petro Poroshenko explain what he meant by the words “cultural autonomy” uttered at a recent press conference when he spoke about changing the text of the Ukrainian Constitution regarding the status of Crimea.
The deputy head of a group banned in the Russian Federation, Akhtem Chiygoz, stated this on air on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, it is not clear why Poroshenko earlier promised national-territorial autonomy, but now he is talking about something else.
“All Crimean Tatars have now taken this ambiguously. Or rather, they definitely perceived it – with concern. The vast majority are alarmed. But speculators around this issue have also become more active. Therefore, we will wait, meet and wait for explanations, because the president, the whole of Ukraine, and the whole world know that the Crimean Tatars are fighting for their form of statehood in the form of Crimean Tatar national autonomy,” Chiygoz said.
Let us recall that during his recent press conference, President Poroshenko said that he had not seen the proposal of the working group to change the Constitution regarding the status of Crimea: “I have not seen the proposals of the working group. They must be approved by the Constitutional Commission. As soon as the final version is found, the issue of national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada.”
