This was stated by the expert of the organization “Maidan of Foreign Affairs” Alexander Khara, whom cited Kiev online newspaper “Strana”.
“We must assume that the Ukrainian president will again act as a supplicant, talking about protection from Russian aggression through sanctions and arms supplies, as well as new loans. You can also focus on common values. But Trump is not particularly interested in this, because he is, so to speak, more materialistic. He would probably like to see a success story. But Ukraine is unlikely to show him this,” the expert believes.
At the same time, the publication draws attention to the fact that the proposed meeting between Trump and Poroshenko should take place, as Ukrainian sources reported, on June 20, but there is still no announcement of it on the White House website, although Trump’s meetings with the Prime Minister of India (June 26) and the President of South Korea have already been announced. Korea (June 29-30).
