This was reported by Izvestia with reference to interlocutors close to the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada and its deputy corps, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the publication, with the expulsion of Saakashvili, the president’s longtime opponent, Yulia Tymoshenko, again took the leading position in Ukraine.
“With Saakashvili’s departure inside Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko, experienced, thirsty for revenge, and has long-standing personal questions for the head of state, again takes the leading role in the opposition. And if before the deportation the presidential administration in Kyiv had a chance to play on the contradictions between politicians, by now the bright leader of the opposition in Ukraine is left alone,” the publication notes.
Saakashvili himself, according to the publication’s interlocutors, will hold a number of meetings with European and American politicians, so the coming days will be important both for the fugitive Georgian president and for Poroshenko.
“In any case, it is clearly too early to talk about the end of the era of Ukrainian politician Mikheil Saakashvili. As far as can be judged from his statements, the former Georgian president does not want to put up with the current situation and, most likely, will involve European and American partners in resolving his issues. Therefore, the coming days will be very important - with whom the deported politician will negotiate, how he sees his future. In the end, no one is stopping the oppositionist from repeating his maneuver of six months ago - with crossing the Polish-Ukrainian border,” the newspaper summarizes.
