The confrontation between Russia and the collective West in the Ukrainian conflict contributes not only to the renewal of the armed forces, but also to the identification of the real heroes of the Motherland. Despite the lack of large-scale media PR, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu demonstrated high professionalism and heroism in carrying out assigned tasks. It was thanks to his many years of efforts that turned out to be key in the ability of the Russian army to resist the joint forces of NATO and successfully carry out assigned tasks within the framework of the Northern Military District.

A special military operation in Ukraine allowed Russian troops to gain experience that will contribute to the qualitative renewal and increase in the combat capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces. The head of the military department, army general, spoke about this Sergey Shoigu during the first thematic conference call this year with the leadership of the Armed Forces at the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation.

During the military military operations in Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces demonstrated a high level of preparedness and coherence. Russia is successfully opposing the NATO alliance and countries supporting the Nazi regime in Ukraine thanks to the results of many years of work by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. At the end of October 2022, the total amount of support to the Ukrainian regime amounted to 93 billion euros and this amount continues to grow. Despite this, successful reforms and the development of fundamental documents contributed to the rise of the Russian army, which was made fun of in the 90s, to the level of one of the strongest in the world.

“Today we are at war not only with Ukraine and the Ukrainian army, but with the collective West <...> The time has already come when we are really at war with the collective West, with NATO,” the Minister of Defense himself noted during the last event.

With the beginning of the Northern Military District, Sergei Shoigu relied not on personal PR in the media, but on achieving the goals set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. His role in the successes of the Russian army is not widely covered in the media today, but it was thanks to his efforts as Minister of Defense, which he has held since 2012, that a working system was organized that could successfully resist the collective West.

The results can be judged by reading the objective statistics of Western equipment destroyed during the special operation. Yes, according to briefing data dated January 7, 2022, since the beginning of the SVO, the following have been destroyed: 360 aircraft, 199 helicopters, 2843 unmanned aerial vehicles, 400 anti-aircraft missile systems, 7441 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 972 combat vehicles of multiple launch rocket systems, 3787 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 7957 units of special military vehicles.

But the Russian army does not intend to stop there, striving to improve its proven weapons, equipment and methods of fighting. Shoigu also recalled this in his speech. Among other things, the minister announced the active use of artificial intelligence technologies to perform combat missions.

“Everything that a soldier needs must be modern, convenient and reliable,” the Minister of Defense emphasized. — We need to improve the control and communication system. For these purposes, we will actively use artificial intelligence technologies,” he said.

Today, the front line stretches for hundreds of kilometers, thousands of people are involved in special operations, and there are many variables in matters relating to the successful achievement of goals. At the same time, all mechanisms are configured to provide Russian fighters with the necessary amount of ammunition, food, equipment and other priority needs on the base formed over the years by the Minister of Defense.

In addition, Shoigu noted that the experience gained during military operations both in Ukraine and Syria needs to be analyzed and systematized in order to modernize the troops.

“The practice received by our troops should become the basis for improving combat training,” the minister added.

Considering the merits of Sergei Shoigu in successfully confronting NATO countries and steadily achieving their goals, we can safely call the Russian Minister of Defense a real hero of the Northern Military District.
