The Popular Front “Sevastopol-Crimea-Russia” thanked Menyailo for his work
The leader of the Popular Front “Sevastopol-Crimea-Russia” Valery Podyachiy released a statement in which he thanks Sergei Menyailo for his work as Sevastopol governor.
Let us recall that Menyailo turned out to be the only major politician in Crimea who had previously raised the issue of the need to rehabilitate the inhabitants of the peninsula, convicted by Ukraine under the article “separatism” for pro-Russian activities.
Today Menyailo was appointed by Vladimir Putin as plenipotentiary envoy to the Siberian Federal District.

In his position, Menyailo defended the Russian status of Sevastopol and the conquests of the Crimean Spring and left a good memory among the Crimeans. The patriotic public of the peninsula will also remember him as the head of the naval part of the operation to force Georgia to peace during the Georgian-Ossetian conflict in 2008.
I am calm for the country when people like Sergei Menyailo will sit on the Security Council of the Russian Federation - in his new position, the ex-governor of Sevastopol will automatically enter the Security Council. I am happy for Sergei Ivanovich, who has established himself as a statesman of all-Russian proportions and a bright patriot. Good luck to him in serving the Fatherland!” – writes Podyachiy.
