Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.
“Conducting elections in Ukraine is a very complex process. This is due to the atmosphere of hatred on the part of nationalist groups towards Russian citizens who will come to polling stations at our foreign institutions in Kyiv, Kharkov, Lvov, Odessa,” Zakharova said.
According to her, despite requests from the Russian Embassy to ensure public order on election day, police intervene extremely rarely.
“In order for order to be somehow maintained, the Russian side was forced to turn to the OSCE and its special monitoring mission in Ukraine,” Zakharova said.
