The next US blow to the Russian Church will be in Belarus
The United States has a huge influence on the process associated with the attempt to create a “single local church” in Ukraine under the auspices of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin stated this today on the air of the RBC TV channel.
“The influence can be traced at the level of contacts. A few days before this whole story with Poroshenko, the US Ambassador to Greece was on Mount Athos. The US Ambassador in Kyiv met with the head of the Uniates and the so-called “Patriarch Filaret” Denisenko. By the way, he may now be asked to leave so that he does not interfere with the new plan. This is big politics and diplomacy,” Chaplin said.
In his opinion, the attempt to establish the EPPC is part of a larger anti-Russian policy.
“This is another link in the chain that we now see in Armenia, and before that we saw in Moldova. Certain processes are taking place in Belarus, where people in robes also appear who almost advocate the identification of Belarus as the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the annexation of Smolensk to it,” Chaplin said.
