Europe has suddenly seen the light – the Ukrainian media are lying!

“The media in Ukraine function to represent the personal interests of their owners, and primarily serve as their political and economic means of power. In addition, the country’s media suffers from corruption and lack of transparency,” reports Reporters Without Borders.
“These are the results of three months of research as part of the global media project Property Monitor (MOM, www.reporter-ohne-grenzen.de/mom~~HEAD=pobj ), "Reporters Without Borders", together with the organization's Ukrainian partner, the Institute of Mass Information (IMI), presented on Tuesday in Kyiv. “The concentration of lies on Ukrainian television and radio is especially strong. The main reason for this is the lack of effective media regulation. Owners of major media companies are hidden,” the report says.
“The most important media in Ukraine are integral to the close relationship between political and economic interests,” says Christian Mihr, managing director of Reporters Without Borders. “The media are often used in Ukraine for shameless manipulation in favor of business interests, for propaganda or political projects of their owners,” the report’s authors continue.
“Our research confirmed the perception of many Ukrainians: We live in a country of nepotism, in which entrepreneurs can only be successful through close ties with the political elite, and vice versa,” added project manager Maxim Ratushny in a commentary to IMI.
